For those of you curious, the sea creature at the start is a very large amphipod, a type of crustacean. Most of them are tiny (think less than a centimeter long), but the six species of _Cystisoma_ can get up to at least four inches in length. But they're not the biggest of the amphipods by a longshot; _Alicella gigantea_ can get up to thirteen inches long.

I’m half Peruvian! My family in Peru still lives in the Sacred Valley and are most likely descendants of the Inca. This was very fascinating and made me feel very proud of my ancestors! I hope more people like me will get to see themselves in the media in the future.

I’m from Peru. I remember when I was a kid I used to have one of those whistles in my home, my parents found it in an artisan shop in one of the many stores from Chinatown in downtown Lima. I just added a drop of water and I almost couldn’t recognize it from a real bird. It’s just amazing!

well, the whistling vessels are not Inca. Them are much earlier, them are from Vicús culture (200 bC to 400 aD) in a zone nowadays inside Peru, so this culture desappear long before Incas. These are replicas from the originals found in the 1960s excavations.

I remember seeing similar water whistles on a some kind of fair, I even brought one home. Those water whistles were not Incan though, but Ukrainian, also they too were shaped like birds. Incan ones seem much cooler, they are big, and sound like an actual bird.

fun fact: i think the water whistle's makes sounds based on how the wind travels throughout the pipe hole at the back of the whistle and travels out of the front of the water whistle. the fact that that they were made 1000 years ago really impresses me. this means that in like year 1022 their skills of development were impressive even for someone born 1000 years ago. wow it seems like i love science.

Fun fact! The Cystisoma (hyperiid shown in the first clip) actually has one pair of eyes. The orange sheet is the retina, possibly used to look for predators above

The shrimp like creature is _Cystisoma,_ totally invisible to the eye when in water. And can only be caught by flash of a camera. Their bulbous head holds huge sensitive eyes pointing upward, searching for the shadow of their prey. The water whistles are incredible!

The penguin covered in mud and the walk that he does makes me think of the video involving a guy in England that's walking his dog. He's covered in mud from head to toe and the person behind the camera is giggling, the only other one not covered in mud is the dog. As the man walks past he says "Don't F**king talk to me". His day was ruined by mud and so was the penguin's. 🐧.

@TheSteelSquid Then again, there's much more information in the ocean to go through with all the life down there, how the floor affects the waves, how the ocean affects the weather/vice-versa. In space, we can just do some math and figure out what's going where without much error. I guess it's quantitative vs qualitative information, so they probably shouldn't be compared.

@Pupper Gump That and the dark matter thing, that's a big one. In the end it doesn't matter though, because we don't even know how much space is out there so we can't even put a percent on how much we've explored. That alone should prove that we know more about the ocean than space.
